When it comes to creating stories, I usually have one simple theme, one problem to solve.
But in the course of developing it, as I build the world surrounding the story, I kept adding and creating characters, topics, side quest etc etc until the initially short story become an entire saga.
The same thing happen with my current project Execution.
Although it's still self contained, not as complex as my previous stories, it's still too complex for a standalone story. I found there's too many motivations, too many factions, too many distractions. Too many things happen at the same time that when I read it as a simple, unknowing reader, I became lost in it. I forgot which is the main problem and which character should I root for.
and I honestly can't believe I made this mistake, AGAIN. It's smaller in scale, but still too big.
and now that is confirmed, I'm not sure what should I do now:
If I trim the story down, I need to change some stuff... again, because the current big one has so many layers in it.
Then again, I'm glad I haven't started anything so the trimming thing only have to happen on script.
Actually since all visual designs almost complete, trimming the story will only change the story, not the visuals, and I can still use those designs so it shouldn't be a problem...
There, just have to get it out. Time's running out for me so I'm a bit jumpy now. I do hope I can finish this project this year.
So I think it's really time to take it easy
See you around,
Peter
PS: Perspective problem solved. Apparently I'm not unable to do perspective, I just can't choose the right angle. after studying from life and from photographs, I've learnt to find a good angle for convincing realistic perspective
